The KML Foundation continues to make a significant impact on students and families at Kettle Moraine Lutheran High School. I recently sat down with Dave Murphy, our Director of Operations, to discuss his first year at KML and the vital role the Foundation plays in supporting Christian education.
Dave shared that his first year has been filled with learning the ins and outs of his position, improving processes, and developing the financial budget for the upcoming fiscal year. As treasurer of the KML Foundation, Dave handles donation deposits, disbursements, and fiscally oversees the Foundation's endowment funds. This behind-the-scenes work is crucial to ensuring that families receive the assistance they need.
The most exciting news from our conversation was the Foundation's approved distribution for the 2025-26 school year. The KML Foundation Board has authorized $164,500 for tuition assistance and scholarships. Of this amount, $112,100 comes directly from the Foundation's endowment funds, with the remaining amount dedicated to special gifts and scholarships for tech programs, Martin Luther College, and other four-year college scholarships for KML seniors. This comprehensive approach ensures support not just for current KML students but also for graduates as they continue their education journey.
The Foundation's impact goes far beyond financial assistance—it creates opportunities for young people to grow in faith and knowledge.
As summer approaches, I invite you to reach out to me about establishing your estate plans. Also, mark your calendars for the KML Foundation Golf Outing on Monday, July 21st at West Bend Country Club. Registration will open in mid-May, and if last year's quick sellout is any indication, you'll want to register early! For more information, contact me at dylan.rusch@kmlhs.org.
